In my opinion, the Real Tone Cable is a good addition to beginners that don't have an interface to get one along with the game, but it should still have native audio interface support. I have my interface that does the same thing and more, and does so better than the real tone cable so I don't see a point in buying practically a downgrade. Even if I could buy the cable, I don't even want to. Making a game reliant on an exclusive cable when there are better and more available tools to use is such a weird concept to me. For me, I can only get it if I buy it with the game in a retail store, and even then, most don't even sell the game anymore. Originally posted by Tino94:Also many people can't even get the cable anywhere. It is not fun to tell someone what they want can't happen, but sometimes that is the only good answer. There is no benefit to us except the good feeling of helping someone on their path to learn guitar using what we think is the best software currently available for that. If we don't have UBI before our names, then you know we do not get paid to come out here to help. Obviously the OP came out here because they couldn't find a solution. I won't stop you and I was really hoping you could. If you know something we don't then step up and provide that. but instead of saying you don't have a solution your main point of jumping on these is to tell me that I should try to fix what can't be fixed. So, I tell new people that the cable is the solution because that is their best chance to have RS be a usable software for them. I actually started off trying to help them years before you or UBI joined in these threads, but found out the results were never as good as the cable and most never got them to work. I don't have a solution, I have tried and couldn't come up with one, and I have seen so many people over the years trying to get it to work only to end up buying the cable. Until that, your opinion isn't any better than mine. Originally posted by alexcustos:Why do you always think there must be someone else? If they don't like it they can forbid it explicitly. And yes, I don't care about Ubi's support. BTW, since RS_ASIO released, RTC became almost completely useless in this case. Of course, I admit some people can be frustrated because of bad luck with alternative solutions, but at least I give them the hope to try the game immediately if they already have a decent interface for recording guitar. I finally bought the game when it became very clear that I can fake the cable with soldering or reflashing the chip with specific VID/PID (software implementations I found a few minutes later). For example, I noticed Rocksmith from its release but never thought it worth my effort searching and buying the cable. In this case, I think you vastly underestimate the number of people you did discourage. Why do you always think there must be someone else? I'm just having fun here and occasionally share my opinion. UBI has announced that they are working on the next big thing, and I have no idea how that is going to affect them having any more cables made. Save yourself some time and go with what works before all the cables are gone and you can't get one. So, if you are really interested in playing. Ubisoft themselves told you that it is working as intended. Most eventually go buy the cable as the fix or just quit trying and give up completely. Very few actually get them to work properly. Some can use the crack and claim they work, but then complain that the software won't recognize the notes they are playing or timing is off. Some can use interfaces in microphone mode, but get no sound. I can already see his next attack claiming that I am not helping since I am not wasting your time telling you settings that probably won't help because a lot of others have tried them over the years and it didn't help. He knows just as well as the rest of us that are out here helping that interfaces rarely work. He just thinks he is being your hero coming to your rescue. Alex does not have any solutions for you.
